Truck Driving Around the World [Part One]

Globally, the trucking industry is worth around $1.5 trillion and millions of people and their cultures work to keep the world moving. With so much diversity and culture, trucking can look different around the globe. In this first part, we will begin to discuss trucking around the world and the interesting stories surrounding it.

Pakistan- both truckers and artists alike take pride in decorating their trucks to amazing levels. It’s common to see trucks with elaborate designs such as calligraphy, colorful artwork, portraits of prominent individuals, and other unique traits. These can take weeks and teams of people to decorate, but Pakistani drivers take pride in their colorful trucks and their profession.

Belgium- while in the United States we are used to seeing multiple large trucks on the highway or at gas stations, most of Europe and especially Belgium have much smaller trucks to move around. With Belgium taking just around four hours to drive across, they don’t need tremendously large trucks. A trailer there can be around 42 feet long, compared to the US they can get up to 53 feet long!
