Ranger RCI-X9HP Audio Combo
This RCI-X9HP audio combo pairs the compact AM/SSB 10-meter radio with a Driver Extreme DRX-9010 external speaker and DRX-6560 noise-cancelling dynamic microphone. Choose it when you already have an antenna system and want a separate listening position plus a Driver Extreme microphone option.
The RCI-X9HP has a manufacturer-advertised 200W PEP output rating, AM/USB/LSB modes, a frequency counter and two internal cooling fans. Its multicolor faceplate lighting, fine clarifier, SWR meter, mic gain, RF gain, echo and talkback remain part of the radio; the added audio components do not change its operating modes.

Speaker and Microphone Details
The DRX-9010 is a 6-ohm speaker rated for 15 watts nominal, with a wedge-shaped enclosure, mounting bracket and detachable 10-foot cable with 3.5mm plugs. Position it where received audio is easier to hear without having to relocate the radio.
The DRX-6560 uses a 500-ohm dynamic element, a 9-foot cord and standard 4-pin wiring: pin 1 ground, pin 2 audio, pin 3 transmit and pin 4 receive. That wiring matches the RCI-X9HP microphone input, and the microphone does not require a battery.
Before Installation
Connect the DRX-9010 to the external-speaker jack for normal received audio, not the PA jack. Use one microphone at a time and secure the speaker and cables clear of vehicle controls.
Ranger lists radio dimensions of 7⅜″ wide × 8¾″ deep × 2¼″ high. Allow room beneath the radio for fan airflow and additional clearance for knobs, connectors and cables; plan a separate mounting location for the speaker.

Does the DRX-6560 need an adapter for this radio?
No adapter is needed for the RCI-X9HP's standard 4-pin microphone input. The DRX-6560 uses the matching ground, audio, transmit and receive pin assignments.
Where does the external speaker connect?
Connect its 3.5mm plug to the radio's external-speaker jack for received audio. The internal speaker is disabled when an external speaker is connected; the PA jack serves a separate public-address function.
Does this combo support SSB or FM?
The RCI-X9HP supports AM, USB and LSB, including both single-sideband modes. It does not have FM, and the audio accessories do not add it.
Does this package include an antenna or coax?
No. This is the radio-and-audio package. The separate truck install combo includes the SR-A10 antenna, DRX-3402 mirror mount and DRX-1518 coax.
Can I use this audio combo at a desk?
Yes, with a suitable regulated 13.8V DC power supply and matched antenna system. Check the supply's current capacity and allow ventilation beneath the radio before choosing the mounting locations.
