Linked combo components
| Component | Quantity | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| Texas Ranger TRE-2617 AM/FM CB radio | 1 | 40-channel radio with weather, receive NRC and included Ranger SRA-198 microphone. |
| Driver Extreme DRX-9010 speaker | 1 | External receive speaker with mounting bracket and detachable 10-foot cable. |
| Driver Extreme DRX-6560 microphone | 1 | Additional standard four-pin dynamic hand microphone with coiled cord. |
Two microphones, one connected at a time
The DRX-6560 is an additional microphone choice, not a replacement for missing factory equipment. Keep the included Ranger SRA-198 as an alternative or spare, and connect the microphone you prefer to the radio’s standard four-pin socket.
Speaker placement and setup
Position the DRX-9010 where its receive audio is useful in your cab, then connect its 3.5mm plug to EXT.SP. The PA.SP jack serves a different purpose and should not be used for normal receive audio. Connecting the external speaker mutes the internal speaker.
Radio features
The TRE-2617 provides AM/FM on 40 CB channels, weather reception and alert, adjustable receive noise reduction, NB/ANL, variable talkback, a seven-color display and protection for SWR, voltage and transmit time-out. It uses a nominal 12V negative-ground vehicle supply and does not support SSB or direct 24V power.
An antenna and antenna coax are not included in this audio combo. Check the existing antenna system and SWR before normal use.
Don't forget to add the Pro tune and alignment option at checkout so that your radio is professionally bench-tuned for best performance per the manufacturer's service manual.

Frequently asked questions
What is included in this audio combo?
One Texas Ranger TRE-2617 radio with its included Ranger SRA-198 microphone, one Driver Extreme DRX-9010 speaker and one additional Driver Extreme DRX-6560 microphone.
Does the extra microphone replace the included Ranger microphone?
No. Both microphones are included. Choose one microphone to connect to the radio at a time, and keep the other as an alternative or spare.
Does the DRX-6560 need a wiring adapter?
No. Its standard Cobra-style four-pin wiring matches the TRE-2617 microphone connection.
Where does the DRX-9010 speaker connect?
Connect its 3.5mm plug to the radio’s EXT.SP receive-audio jack, not the separate PA.SP jack. Connecting an external speaker mutes the radio’s internal speaker.
Does this package include an antenna?
No. Use a suitable installed CB antenna and coax, or select the truck-install combo if you need an antenna, mirror mount and coax.
Does the TRE-2617 support AM, FM and SSB?
It supports AM and FM on 40 CB channels. SSB is not included. Weather reception, weather alert and receive noise reduction are also provided.
