Ranger RCI-X9 10-Meter AM/SSB Mobile Radio
Ranger RCI-X9 10-Meter Radio with AM, USB and LSB
The Ranger RCI-X9 brings AM and single-sideband operation to a compact mobile chassis with familiar rotary controls. Variable RF power, a built-in frequency display, an auto-calibrating SWR meter and twin cooling fans make it a practical choice for a 10-meter mobile installation.
The RCI-X9 owner's manual lists 120 watts peak output on AM/SSB. The radio includes a Ranger SRA-198 noise-cancelling microphone, with echo and adjustable talkback controls available on the front panel.

Ranger RCI-X9 Frequently Asked Questions
Is the Ranger RCI-X9 a CB radio or a 10-meter radio?
The RCI-X9 is a 10-meter amateur mobile transceiver, not a standard 40-channel CB radio.
Does the RCI-X9 have SSB and FM?
The RCI-X9 supports AM, USB and LSB. USB and LSB provide single-sideband operation; this model does not have FM mode.
How much power is the RCI-X9 rated for?
The RCI-X9 owner's manual lists 120 watts peak output on AM/SSB. It also has a front-panel variable RF power control.
Which microphone comes with the RCI-X9?
The radio includes a Ranger SRA-198 noise-cancelling dynamic microphone. Its 4-pin connection uses pin 1 for shield, pin 2 for audio, pin 3 for transmit and pin 4 for receive.
Can I add an external speaker?
Yes. The owner's manual specifies a 4–8-ohm external speaker rated for at least 5 watts. The Driver Extreme DRX-9010 is rated at 6 ohms and 15 watts nominal; connecting an external speaker disables the radio's built-in speaker.
Does the radio-only package include an antenna?
No. The radio-only package includes the radio, microphone, power cord, mounting hardware and owner's manual. The separate RCI-X9 truck-install combo adds an antenna, mirror mount and coax.
