AM CB Radio with a Magnetic Antenna and Compact Speaker

This package combines the Texas Ranger TRE936FFB AM CB radio with a President Virginia magnetic antenna and an Aries 3-inch wedge external speaker. It suits a compatible vehicle with a suitable steel mounting surface where a magnetic antenna is preferred to a mirror-mount installation.

The Ranger SRA198 noise-cancelling microphone is included with the radio. The Virginia antenna supplies its own coax, while the compact Aries speaker provides an external received-audio option.

Magnetic-Antenna Setup

The Virginia antenna has an adjustable whip angle and a compact 19.69-inch length. Place its magnetic base on a suitable steel surface with an appropriate metal ground plane, keeping the cable protected from door seals, sharp edges and pinching.

A magnetic mount will not attach magnetically to aluminum or fiberglass. Check your vehicle’s mounting surface and cable route before purchase, and check the completed antenna system with the radio’s SWR meter before transmitting.

Connect the Aries speaker to the radio’s external-speaker jack, not the separate PA output. This package does not include the DRX-6560 extra microphone.
