Battery setup and charging
Before installing batteries, open the compartment and set its internal switch to match the cells you are using: alkaline or rechargeable NiMH. Install nine matching AA cells according to the polarity markings, then close the cover.
The external DC connection can power the radio and recharge compatible NiMH batteries. Set the internal switch correctly and never attempt to recharge disposable alkaline batteries. Remove batteries before extended storage, and keep the radio away from water and extreme temperatures.
Optional antenna connection
The PRO401HH supports a suitable 27 MHz CB antenna through its BNC connection. If your separate antenna's coax cable has a PL-259 plug, the optional Workman 40-2610 BNC-to-SO239 adapter provides the connector transition; it is sold separately.
