MX36HP3 radio with external speaker and an extra microphone
This Mirage MX36HP3 audio combo pairs the AM 10-meter amateur radio with a Driver Extreme DRX-9010 external speaker and DRX-6560 noise-cancelling dynamic microphone. Radio features and fit
The MX36HP3 provides variable RF power, microphone gain, RF gain, NB/ANL receiver filtering, echo/time controls and adjustable talkback. Its S/RF/SWR meter monitors signal strength, relative output and antenna-system SWR.
The manufacturer's chassis dimensions are 7-3/8 inches wide × 8-3/4 inches deep × 2-1/4 inches high. Allow clearance for the bracket, knobs, microphone connector and rear cables. The radio requires 13.8V DC with negative ground.
This is an AM 10-meter amateur-radio package, not a license-free CB package. Transmitting requires the appropriate amateur-radio privileges for the frequency and mode used.
Microphone and speaker connections
The DRX-6560 uses the same standard four-pin wiring as the MX36HP3 and connects without a wiring adapter. Its dynamic noise-cancelling design does not require a battery. Connect either the supplied microphone or the DRX-6560 to the front microphone jack.
Connect the DRX-9010's 3.5mm audio plug to the radio's EXT. SP. jack, not the separate PA jack, for received radio audio. The external speaker takes over from the radio's internal speaker. Mount it securely where it does not interfere with vehicle controls or airbags.
What you still need
This audio combo does not include an antenna, antenna mount or antenna coax. Use an antenna system matched to your operating frequency, check the completed installation's SWR and correct antenna-system problems before transmitting.
Don't forget to add the Pro tune and alignment option at checkout so that your radio is professionally bench-tuned for best performance per the manufacturer's service manual.
