Mount, spring and clearance
The whip, spring and mount stud use standard 3/8-24 antenna mounting threads. Measure the actual mirror-arm location and verify grounding and clearance for the complete assembly. The spring and mount add to the whip’s 102-inch length.
Coax and installation checks
Connect the DRX-1518 coax between the mount and the radio’s SO-239 antenna socket. Use a separate external CB SWR meter and suitable jumper to check the installed antenna. No SWR test equipment or tie-down is included.
Thomas FCC radio features
The radio provides 40-channel AM/FM operation, 12/24V vehicle compatibility, manual squelch and ASC, channel scan, a seven-color display, VOX, talkback and USB charging. Its original electret microphone uses a six-pin President connection. SSB is not included; match the channel and mode of the other radio.
