SuperStar SS148PRO Audio Combo
This SS148PRO audio combo pairs the AM 10-meter radio with a Driver Extreme DRX-9010 external speaker and DRX-6560 noise-cancelling dynamic microphone. It is a practical choice when you already have an antenna system and want to choose where you hear received audio and which microphone you use.
The SS148PRO has a manufacturer-advertised 300W PEP output rating and retains its large SWR/MOD/PWR meter, high-SWR alert, NB/ANL filtering, mic gain, RF gain, echo and variable talkback. The external speaker and microphone add audio options; they do not add FM or SSB modes.

Speaker and Microphone Details
The DRX-9010 has a wedge-shaped enclosure, a heavy-duty mounting bracket and a detachable 10-foot cable with 3.5mm plugs. It is a 6-ohm speaker rated for 15 watts nominal, allowing you to position received audio independently of the radio chassis.
The DRX-6560 uses a dynamic noise-cancelling element, an ergonomic push-to-talk switch and a 9-foot cord. Its standard 4-pin wiring matches the SS148PRO microphone connection: pin 1 ground, pin 2 audio, pin 3 transmit and pin 4 receive. No microphone battery is required.
Before Installation
The SS148PRO's manufacturer-listed dimensions are 7⅞″ wide × 11⅛″ deep × 3¼″ high. Allow clearance for the radio's heat sink, controls, connectors and cables, plus separate mounting space for the external speaker.
Connect the DRX-9010 to the radio's external-speaker jack, not the PA jack, for normal receive audio. Use one microphone at a time, secure the speaker where it will not obstruct controls, and keep cables clear of pedals and moving parts.

Does this package add FM or single sideband?
No. The SS148PRO remains an AM 10-meter radio. The speaker and microphone change the audio setup, not the radio's operating modes.
Can I use the combo in a base setup?
Yes, with an appropriate regulated 13.8V DC power supply and a matched antenna system. The speaker bracket allows a separate listening position; check supply capacity, chassis clearance and cable routing before installation.
