Uniden PC78LTX FM AM/FM CB Radio with SWR Meter
Uniden PC78LTX FM AM/FM CB Radio
The Uniden PC78LTX FM combines 40-channel AM/FM CB operation with traditional knobs, switches and an analog meter. It is a practical choice for drivers who want direct access to RF gain, microphone gain, squelch and audio filtering without navigating menus.
The built-in SWR meter and antenna warning indicator help you check the installed antenna system. Select AM or FM to match the other radio's mode, adjust the receive controls for the conditions, and use the front four-pin microphone connection for convenient access.

Allow additional installation space for the knobs, rear connections, cable bends and ventilation. Check the mounting area before ordering; the radio's dimensions alone do not establish vehicle-specific fit.
Use a CB antenna installation matched to the 27 MHz CB band. After mounting and connecting the antenna, calibrate the built-in meter and check SWR as directed in the owner's manual. Antenna adjustment is part of the vehicle installation, not a substitute for radio controls or microphone adjustments.

Frequently asked questions
Does the PC78LTX FM operate on both AM and FM?
Yes. It supports AM and FM operation on the 40 CB channels. Both stations must select the same channel and mode to communicate normally.
Does it have a built-in SWR meter?
Yes. The analog meter has S/RF, SWR and CAL settings, with a separate SWR CAL control. Follow the owner's manual to calibrate the meter and check the installed antenna system.
How large is the radio?
Uniden lists 7-9/32 inches wide, 7-51/64 inches deep and 2-13/64 inches high, excluding knobs and jacks. Allow additional room for controls, connections and ventilation.
What power supply does it need?
The specified input is 13.8V DC, and the radio is designed for a 12-volt negative-ground vehicle system. Do not connect it directly to a 24-volt system or household AC power.
Does it include an antenna?
No. The standalone radio includes a microphone, DC power cord, bracket and mounting hardware, but not an antenna or antenna coax. A suitable CB antenna system is required before transmitting.
Does the PC78LTX FM have SSB?
No. This model supports AM and FM, not upper or lower sideband. Its PA setting is a separate public-address function.
What does the antenna warning light mean?
It indicates a high-SWR condition in the antenna system. Check the antenna, coax and connections, then follow the manual's SWR procedure and the antenna manufacturer's adjustment instructions before continued transmitting.
