License and installation notes

No FCC license is required to operate a CB radio in the United States. The George FCC is Part 95 certified for the 11-meter Citizens Band and is legal to install in any personal vehicle, work truck, or base station.

The DIGIMIKE plugs into the George's front 6-pin mic jack — no adapters. The Virginia is magnet-mount, so it needs a steel mounting surface (roof, hood, or trunk lid). SWR is verified at antenna install on your vehicle — not on the radio bench.

What's the difference between this kit and the Virginia + speaker combo?
This kit swaps the 3″ external speaker for the DIGIMIKE mic upgrade. It's aimed at drivers who care more about outbound audio (mic upgrade) than inbound audio (external speaker). If you want both, add either the DIGIMIKE or the Aries 3″ wedge speaker to the other combo listing.

Can I run this on a fiberglass or aluminum vehicle?
The Virginia is magnet-mount, so it needs a steel mounting surface. For full-fiberglass hoods, aluminum-body trucks, or campers, look at a hard-mount setup like the Stryker SR-A10 on a DRX-3402 mirror mount instead.

Do I need to check SWR after installing the Virginia?
Yes. The Virginia ships pre-tuned to 1.1:1 as a benchmark, but the actual SWR depends on the mounting surface and location on your specific vehicle. Verify at install and adjust the whip if needed.
