The included DRX-6560 is a Driver Extreme dynamic hand mic with a much stronger noise-cancelling element than the stock SRA-198NC, and the DRX-9010 external speaker moves audio out of the cramped chassis grille and into the cab. Both accessories are the direct 4-pin drop-in match for the SS-399, so there is no adapter or rewiring — plug the mic into the front jack and plug the speaker into the rear 3.5 mm jack.

SS-399 compatibility notes
The DRX-6560 uses standard 4-pin Ranger/Cobra mic wiring — the same pinout the SS-399 was designed around. It is not a President 6-pin mic and will not work with President-wired radios such as the Walker IV or George FCC. The DRX-9010 uses a 3.5 mm mono plug that seats in the SS-399's rear external-speaker jack; no impedance matching or amplifier is required.
