Whip clearance and mounting
Plan for the whip's full 102-inch length plus the spring and mount. Check overhead clearance, the mounting surface and safe routing before installing. The DRX-3402 must attach to a suitable support; this package is not a vehicle-specific fitment guarantee.
Antenna setup
The DRX-1518 supplies the 18-foot antenna-coax connection. Check mounting ground, connectors and SWR with an external CB SWR meter and jumper before normal operation. The meter and jumper are not included.
Radio features and power
The Bill III provides 40-channel AM/FM, 4W rated carrier output, NOAA weather alerts, ASC, transmit/receive NRC and a seven-color display. Its chassis measures 4.02 inches wide, 3.94 inches deep and 0.98 inches high. Use a nominal 12V supply, specified at 13.8V DC; a 24V installation needs a suitable converter.

Does this package include a tie-down?

Is the whip ready to use without an SWR check?
No. Check the completed installation with an external CB SWR meter and suitable jumper. Mounting, grounding and antenna adjustment affect the installed system.
Does the radio still include its factory microphone?
Yes. The original President electret microphone remains with the radio. Any additional microphone listed in this package is an extra, with one microphone connected at a time.
Can the Bill III run directly from 24V?
No. Use a suitable nominal 12V supply, specified at 13.8V DC. A 24V electrical system requires an appropriate 24-to-12V converter.
