Plan the antenna and power installation
Check the mirror arm or other proposed mounting surface for size, strength and a suitable ground connection. This is not a universal-fit kit, and additional vehicle-specific hardware or bonding may be required. Route the coax away from pinch points, moving parts and heat.
Adjust the antenna for your intended operating frequencies and verify SWR before transmitting. Do not assume a CB-band antenna adjustment is correct for 10-meter operation. The radio's signal/output meter is not an SWR meter; suitable external measurement equipment is not included.
The CX33HPMAX uses 13.8V DC in a negative-ground installation and is listed at 120W peak output. Its owner's manual gives nominal dimensions of 7⅞″ W × 9¼″ D × 2⅜″ H. Allow additional clearance for controls, connectors, cable bends and ventilation.

Will the mount fit every truck?
No. Check the actual mirror arm or mounting surface before ordering. Fit, structural support, antenna clearance and grounding depend on the vehicle, and additional hardware or bonding may be required.
Is the antenna ready to transmit without adjustment?
No. Install and adjust the antenna for your intended operating frequencies, then verify SWR with suitable equipment before transmitting. An adjustment made for the CB band should not be assumed correct for 10-meter operation.
Does it include an SWR meter?
No. The radio's front meter shows received signal strength and relative output power, not SWR. An external meter or antenna analyzer appropriate for the setup is required for checking the antenna system.
Does this combo include the Driver Extreme microphone and speaker?
No. The DRX-6560 microphone and DRX-9010 speaker are part of the separate audio combo. This truck-install combo concentrates on the radio and antenna-installation components.
Does the radio operate on SSB?
No. The CX33HPMAX supports AM and FM operation. The antenna and coax do not add USB or LSB capability.
