The Connex CX33HPMAX, identified in its owner's manual as the CX-33 HP Max, is an AM/FM 10-meter amateur mobile radio with a built-in amplifier, front-panel microphone connection and traditional rotary controls. Choose it for a mobile installation where you want separate microphone and RF gain adjustments, echo, switchable talkback and a clearly visible channel display.
Blue channel and meter lighting, a three-position dimmer and an analog signal/output meter keep the operating information straightforward. This is an AM/FM model, not a single-sideband radio; PA is a separate public-address function that requires an external PA speaker.

Measure the actual radio and mounting area before installation. Allow additional room for front controls, rear connections, cable bends and ventilation; the nominal dimensions are not a guaranteed installed clearance. Use the supplied fused DC lead and a suitably sized power connection rather than assuming an existing accessory socket is adequate.
Install an antenna system matched to your operating frequencies and check SWR before transmitting. The radio's signal/output meter is not a substitute for an external SWR measurement.
Included equipment
The radio package includes a stock dynamic microphone, DC power lead, mounting bracket and hardware, and microphone hanger. An antenna, coax cable, external speaker and external frequency counter are not included with the standalone radio.

No. The CX33HPMAX provides AM and FM operation. It does not provide USB or LSB operation.

Can I add an external speaker?
Yes. The rear EXT. SP connection accepts a compatible external receive speaker and disconnects the internal speaker when used. The audio combo includes the Driver Extreme DRX-9010; the separate PA connection is for public-address operation.
Which combo should I choose?
Choose the audio combo if you already have a suitable antenna installation and want an external speaker and microphone upgrade. Choose the truck-install combo if you need the radio plus a Stryker SR-A10 antenna, mirror mount and coax; vehicle-specific fitment and antenna adjustment are still required.
