Why this combo

The 99N2 is only as good as its antenna system. Feed 200W+ PEP into a poorly-matched CB whip and you'll heat up coax, cook the finals over time, and get modest range for the power expended. Install and tuning

Antenna installation is where the whole system either sings or squawks. Every antenna needs to be SWR-checked at install — mounting location, ground plane, and coax routing all affect the match. We verify SWR at antenna installation on any local install; if you're installing yourself, an inline SWR meter or an antenna analyzer is essential. Don't transmit at high power into an unverified antenna system.

Coax should be routed away from ignition wiring, spark plugs, and alternator leads. Ground the antenna mount to bare vehicle metal for best radiation efficiency.
