- Deep receive toolkit. NRC + ANL + NB + HI-CUT + adjustable RF gain + Clarifier gives you multiple ways to clean up a noisy band.
- Smooth, easy-to-learn menu. Anyone who has used a President will find the Washington immediately familiar.

Recommended pairings
- Microphone upgrade: President DIGIMIKE 6-pin noise-reducing microphone — the mic-connector match for the Washington's 6-pin front jack. Cuts diesel drone significantly on mobile installs.
- Antenna (mirror-mount / trucker install): Stryker SR-A10 — 49" silver-plated 10,000W antenna, our best-selling 10m mobile antenna.
- Antenna (no-drill / magnet mount): Stryker SR-A10MM — same antenna body on a heavy-duty magnetic base.
- Mirror mount: DRX-3402 heavy-duty mirror mount — the standard for Class 8 mirror installs.
- Coax: DRX-1518 18-ft M213 — the electrical length that resonates cleanly on a mirror-mount install.
- External speaker: DRX-9010 premium external speaker — recommended: the Washington's internal audio amp is on the light side for loud cabs.
- Cooling upgrade: President ACMD901 fan kit — the factory-approved 40 mm fan for the Washington's rear heatsink. Step up to the dual ACMD901 kit for the manufacturer's maximum-cooling configuration, or the dual fan installation service if you'd rather we install them for you before the radio ships.

License requirement
The President Washington transmits on the 10 meter (28.000–29.700 MHz) and 12 meter (24.890–24.990 MHz) amateur bands and requires a valid FCC Amateur Radio license. Technician-class privileges cover FM operation on the upper portion of 10m plus SSB voice from 28.300–28.500 MHz. A General or Amateur Extra license unlocks the full SSB portion of 10 meters (28.300–29.700 MHz) and full access to 12 meters. Buying the radio is legal; transmitting without a license is not. See our 10 meter radio licensing guide for exam prep, license classes, and the full breakdown.
Pro Tune & Alignment
Don't forget to add the Pro Tune and alignment option at checkout so that your radio is professionally bench-tuned for best performance per the manufacturer's service manual.
Warranty
President Electronics backs the Washington with a 2-year factory warranty. Purchase a President-brand antenna in the same order and the factory warranty extends to 5 years. Warranty service is handled by CB Radio Supply — save your order confirmation as proof of purchase.
Frequently asked questions
Does the President Washington need a license?
Yes. The Washington transmits on the 10 meter and 12 meter amateur bands, which are regulated by the FCC. You need a valid FCC Amateur Radio license (Technician class minimum) before transmitting. Technician covers FM plus a portion of SSB voice on 10 meters; General or Amateur Extra unlocks full SSB privileges. See our 10 meter radio licensing guide.
What is the President Washington's real output power?
In stock condition, the Washington delivers approximately 90W+ on AM, 95-100W PEP on SSB, and 50W FM. The AM dead key is adjustable. This is a genuine 100W-class radio out of the box — the earlier 80W Washington often fell short of its rating without adjustment; this version does not.
Is the Washington good for 10 meter repeater use?
Yes — this is one of its strongest selling points. The Washington includes both CTCSS and DCS tone encoding, which most 10m repeaters require for access. For a dedicated 10m repeater station, the Washington is the best choice in our current 10 meter radio lineup.
Does the Washington cover 12 meters?
Yes. Frequency coverage extends across the entire 12 meter amateur band (24.890–24.990 MHz) as well as the full 10 meter band (28.000–29.700 MHz). Technician-class licenses do not include 12 meter privileges; General or Amateur Extra required for 12m transmit.
What microphone connector does the Washington use?
The Washington uses a 6-pin front microphone jack — different from the 4-pin connector used by most CB and Stryker radios. Standard 4-pin CB microphones are not directly compatible. The President DIGIMIKE 6-pin noise-reducing microphone is the direct upgrade path and cuts diesel and road noise significantly.
Does the Washington include a cooling fan?
No. The Washington ships without a fan, but President Electronics designed it with two internal fan headers so you can add their factory-approved ACMD901 fan kit — one for standard operation, or the dual ACMD901 kit for the manufacturer's maximum-cooling setup. Once installed, the Washington's built-in APM (Automatic Power Management) system controls the fans automatically based on internal temperature. For general SSB and moderate FM use the radio runs cool enough in stock form, and this version tends to run cooler than the earlier 80W model, so a fan is optional for light-duty operators. For long transmissions, heavy repeater duty, or high-duty-cycle base operation, one or two fans are the recommended next step. Prefer the fans professionally installed before your radio ships? Add the Washington dual fan installation service or grab the all-in-one Washington + installed dual fan combo.
What antenna and coax should I pair with the Washington?
For a mirror-mount install on a Class 8 truck, pair the Washington with the Stryker SR-A10 antenna, DRX-3402 mirror mount, and DRX-1518 18-ft M213 coax. For a no-drill temporary install, use the Stryker SR-A10MM magnetic-mount antenna. For a base station, any 50-ohm resonant 10m antenna will work — the Washington doesn't care about the mount, only about SWR.
Can I extend the warranty on the President Washington?
Yes. President Electronics extends the factory warranty from 2 years to 5 years when you purchase the Washington and a President-brand antenna together in the same order. See our President antennas collection.
Is the Washington good for base station use?
Yes — it's arguably the best radio in our current lineup for a dedicated 10m base station. The compact desktop-style chassis, dual mic jacks (front 6-pin + rear VOX), external speaker jack, PA jack, and CTCSS/DCS repeater support make it a natural desktop setup with a 13.8V power supply. For high-duty-cycle base operation, add the dual ACMD901 fan kit for the manufacturer's maximum-cooling configuration.
Ready to order
Add the President Washington to your cart and pair it with the DIGIMIKE 6-pin noise-reducing microphone and a Stryker SR-A10 antenna for the complete 10m station.
